Join AWA

AWA fills many different needs in the lives of expatriates living in Indonesia. Getting involved is a great way to become part of this community that is now your home.

AWA offers a variety of activities, opportunities to volunteer, and ways to meet and socialize with other members (e.g. drop-in coffee mornings, talks, and programs and many other activities and special events). If you need support and information about Jakarta, you can count on other members to help you! There are many benefits to being a member of AWA and your level of involvement is entirely up to you!

If you have any questions send us an email.

Membership Benefits

Opportunities to Volunteer

AWA has many ways to get involved. Our Social Welfare programs need assistance. We have volunteer opportunities at the AWA Center helping at the front desk. Naturally, serving on the AWA Executive Board brings its own rewards.

E-Newsletter

Our newsletter is emailed to all members to provide information about current events as well as reminders about meetings and activities. Add BeAWAre to your "safe senders" list and read it to keep up to date. Not on the list? Contact us and we'll add you in.

Coffee Mornings +

Once a month, usually on a Monday, we hold a special coffee morning with a special theme, an invited speaker or vendors. Additional special coffee programs may take place on Mondays and Wednesdays. Just check our list of events.

Events & Activities

The AWA has a number of activities available only to members or to members at a preferential price. Upcoming Events lists all of our already scheduled activities. Give us a call or drop by if you want to know about upcoming events.

Newcomer Coffee Morning

All new members are invited to attend our Newcomer Coffee morning, which is designed to introduce new members to each other as well as to provide useful information about AWA and living in Jakarta. A short presentation is usually followed by a Q&A session.

Member Note:

As we welcome BWA and AIA into the Center, we have closed our Thrift Shop to open additional space. However, hang on to your donations! We will hold garage sales and we will announce drop-off dates for your donations just prior to those sales.
