AWA fills many different needs in the lives of expatriates living in Indonesia. Getting involved is a great way to become part of this community that is now your home. AWA offers a variety of activities, opportunities to volunteer, and ways to meet and socialize with other members (e.g. Monday Coffee Mornings, Coffee and CHAT (Come Hear a Talk) and Coffee and SHOP programs and many other activities and special events). If you need support and information about Jakarta, you can count on other members to help you! There are many benefits to being a member of AWA and your level of involvement is entirely up to you!

Opportunities to Volunteer
AWA has many ways to get involved. Our Social Welfare programs need assistance. We have volunteer opportunities at the AWA Center helping in the Thrift Shop and at the front desk. Naturally, serving on the AWA Executive Board brings its own rewards.
BeAWAre Bi-weekly E-Mail
Bi-weekly, a newsletter is emailed to all members. BeAWAre provides information about current events as well as reminders about meetings and activities. Add BeAWAre to your "safe senders" list and read it to keep up to date. Not on the list? Contact us and we'll add you in.
Monday Morning Coffee
On Monday mornings at the AWA Center we can be found enjoying a cup of coffee or tea in each other's company. Monday mornings are a special time for getting together. Drop by anytime to visit with others, sign up for activities, and to keep up to date! Special programs also take place on Mondays.

The AWA has a number of activities available only to members or to members at a preferential price. Details of these Activities & Events are found throughout this website and sign-up sheets are located at the AWA Center. Give us a call or drop by if you want to know about upcoming events.
Newcomer Coffee Morning
All new members are invited to attend this bi-monthly event, which is designed to introduce new members to each other as well as to provide useful information about AWA and living in Jakarta. A short presentation is usually followed by a Q&A session so that new members are fully informed.
